Research, not advice. This is what I found in public sources about prop trading firms. It is not financial advice or a recommendation to buy any challenge. A challenge is a paid evaluation: most people who try one do not get funded, and the fee is usually not returned. Rules, prices and ratings change often, so confirm everything on the firm’s official site. Some links here are affiliate links, explained in the affiliate disclosure. See the full disclaimer.
Which are the best crypto prop firms in 2026?
This is the market I treat with the most caution, so I ranked it with the strictest scoring on evidence. Breakout leads, HyroTrader is second, and Funding Traders third. Each card links to a full review and the official site. If you trade forex or index CFDs, see the Top 10 CFD prop firms; for contracts, the Top 10 futures prop firms.
- 1
Breakout review
Kraken-owned, simple rules and fast USDC payouts, though the capital is simulated and most praise comes from Kraken-side or affiliate sources.
3.8/5Official site - 2
HyroTrader review
The most exchange-native crypto firm in my list, with positive payout reviews and some rule-enforcement disputes.
3.5/5Official site - 3
Funding Traders review
A payout guarantee and crypto withdrawals, with unclear company details and a tight risk cap on instant accounts.
3.2/5Official site - 4
Crypto Fund Trader review
Large payout claims and a big pair list, but a FINMA warning-list entry and conflicting company details.
3.2/5Official site - 5
Tradeify Crypto review
A new crypto arm of a well-rated futures firm, with fair-sounding rules and very few crypto reviews so far.

Crypto-only with conservative leverage and mostly happy payouts, but 2026 complaints about a penalty clause.

How I ranked these crypto prop firms
- 25%Track record and stability. How long the company has operated, whether it has paused or closed, who is behind it.
- 25%Public rating and review volume. Trustpilot-style scores weighted by how many reviews sit behind them, and how consistent the sources are.
- 20%Payout evidence. Published payout totals, reported payout speed, and the volume of payout complaints.
- 15%Rule stability and transparency. Retroactive rule changes, clarity of the rules, how hard it is to see what blocks a withdrawal.
- 10%Conditions and value. Fees, profit split, drawdown style and platform choice.
- 5%Support and verification. How support and identity checks are described by traders.
- Evidence is thinner here. Several firms have only a few hundred Trustpilot reviews (and some fewer than 100), so I scored young or low-review firms lower on track record and public rating.
- Ratings and payout totals are largely self-reported or affiliate-sourced. Where Kraken or a firm wrote the comparison, I say so.
- I could not read Reddit directly. Please read the crypto and prop-trading subreddits and the live Trustpilot page yourself.
- This is desk research with no funded accounts traded for the ranking, and commissions do not change a score.

Are crypto prop firms simulated or real?
This is the single most important question. CoinGecko’s 2026 comparison describes two models: real-exchange execution and fully simulated pricing. Most firms, including the largest, use simulated capital that follows real prices. HyroTrader is the firm in that comparison with a path to real capital, with orders routed to an exchange (Bybit), according to reviewers. Breakout accounts are described as simulated even though it is owned by an exchange, and Crypto Fund Trader is described as fully demo-based.
Why it matters: if the account is simulated, payouts come from the firm’s own funds (largely evaluation fees), not from your trades hitting a market. Your payout depends on the company’s income and honesty. One 2026 roundup even claimed that only about 7% of traders across 300,000 prop accounts received a payout; I could not verify that figure, but it shows why independent payout evidence matters.
What risks are specific to crypto prop firms?
- Offshore and unregulated. Many are. Switzerland’s FINMA lists Crypto Fund Trader on its public warning list (entry dated August 2024), while other sources describe a Swiss registration, so company details conflict.
- Closures. Commentary reports several offshore crypto prop firms missing payouts or closing overnight in the 2025–2026 cycle.
- Hidden or unusual rules. A March 2026 BitFunded reviewer described a 70% penalty under an “anti-gambling” rule found only in an external document.
- Per-trade risk caps and exposure limits. Reviewers flag a 3% per-trade cap and low-cap altcoin limits at HyroTrader and a 1% cap on Funding Traders instant accounts.
- Complaint-heavy names. Goat Funded Trader has a steady stream of payout-denial complaints, and Mubite carries a middling tracker score with unanswered reports.
Why do crypto prop firm payouts get denied?
- Rule enforcement after the fact, such as accusations of over-risking, copy trading or “inconsistent” patterns.
- Penalty clauses that were not clear on the sign-up pages.
- Identity or IP matches that flag accounts as linked.
- Trailing-drawdown mechanics that differ between account types.
Because crypto payouts are often on-chain, you can ask for a transaction ID and check it yourself. That is one real advantage over other markets.
10 questions to ask before buying a crypto challenge
- Is the account simulated, or are orders routed to an exchange?
- Who owns the company, and where is it registered? Does a regulator list it?
- What are the per-trade risk limits and exposure caps?
- Is there a consistency or anti-gambling rule, and where is it written?
- What is the drawdown type for this account?
- How are payouts made, and can I verify them on-chain?
- Are there fees on withdrawals, resets or activation?
- What do the most recent one- and two-star reviews say about payouts?
- Can I test with the smallest account and withdraw a small payout first?
- Can I afford to lose the fee?
Crypto prop firm discount codes and offers
Verified codes and affiliate offers for the crypto firms appear below with a copy button. I only list what I have entered and checked. Many crypto prop review pages sell codes that go stale, so confirm the price at checkout. Please read the affiliate disclosure.
I have no verified discount codes to list at the moment. Each review links to the official site, where you can see current pricing.
My verdict: how I would shortlist
I would read Breakout and HyroTrader first, buy the smallest account, save screenshots of the rules and test a small payout before spending more. I would not pay for a large account at any firm in the bottom half of this list until its evidence improves. If you want a market with deeper evidence, compare the CFD and futures rankings, or start at the prop firm overview.
Reminder: I do not claim that any firm here is safe, that you will pass a challenge, get funded or be paid, or that trading will be profitable. Ratings are my editorial judgement from public sources, which are often affiliate-funded and sometimes disagree. Commissions never change a score. Only pay what you can afford to lose.
