Research, not advice. This is what I found in public sources about prop trading firms. It is not financial advice or a recommendation to buy any challenge. A challenge is a paid evaluation: most people who try one do not get funded, and the fee is usually not returned. Rules, prices and ratings change often, so confirm everything on the firm’s official site. Some links here are affiliate links, explained in the affiliate disclosure. See the full disclaimer.
Is Lucid Trading worth it? My quick verdict
Lucid Trading is the most interesting and the riskiest name in the futures half of my Top 10. It grew very quickly in 2025, its public ratings are strong and its payouts are described as fast. It is seventh because it is the youngest firm here: a great first year is not the same as a track record, and its rules have already moved more than once.
What is Lucid Trading?
Lucid is a US futures prop firm that launched in early 2025 (a few sources give slightly different dates). One review says it grew faster than any other futures prop firm in its first year and reports more than $60 million paid to over 50,000 traders; I could not verify those totals. The main accounts are LucidFlex, LucidPro and a higher tier called LucidBlack.
How reputable is Lucid Trading?
- Public rating: one Trustpilot page listed about 4.5 from 3,772 reviews, with an AI summary mentioning fast payouts.
- Time in business: about one to two years, the shortest in my ranking.
- Review sources: several review pages I read link to discount codes, so they are not neutral.
What do traders praise and complain about?
Praised: payout speed (a figure of about 15 minutes on average is claimed), clear account types and a low minimum payout of $100.
Complained about:
- Account closures. One Trustpilot reviewer said their account was closed for an alleged terms violation after payouts were approved, with no specific evidence provided and three payouts marked sent that never arrived. That is one reviewer’s account, not a verified pattern, but it is the central risk to weigh.
- Rule changes. The first $10K at 100% split now applies only to older accounts, and Pro’s funded consistency moved from 35% to 40%.

Which Lucid rules should you read before buying?
- Consistency and buffer rules for your account type (Pro versus Flex).
- Payout cadence: reported as five profitable days for Flex and three-day cycles for Pro.
- Terms of service on account closure and what happens to pending payouts.
- Which of the old or new split terms applies to the account you buy.
How much does Lucid Trading cost and how do payouts work?
Prices vary by size and plan, and a code from a review site may reduce them, so I do not quote figures. Reported mechanics: 90/10 split, $100 minimum payout, and caps on Flex withdrawals that do not grow with additional payouts, with a move to live after five payouts. Compare the caps with Tradeify and the long record of Topstep.

Cons
- Shortest track record in the Top 10.

Who is Lucid Trading best for, and who should skip it?
Best for futures traders who value payout speed and accept young-company risk.
Think twice if you want a long, battle-tested record or rules that stay put.
